Cory Maloy Announces He Will Run for Re-Election of UT House District 52
LEHI, Utah – January 17, 2022 – Representative Cory Maloy announced today his intent to run
for re-election in the Utah House of Representatives for Utah House District 52 where he
currently serves.
“The past two years have been interesting and difficult for the people of Utah,” said Maloy.
“We have suffered and endured the COVID-19 situation. We are still enduring. At the same
time, we have experienced great prosperity, the lowest unemployment in our history,
economic and population growth. We have also been able to better protect our Constitutional
Rights by putting into place more guard rails to limit the power of our executive branch.
“Yet, there is much to do. Improving air quality is at the top of the list for most Utahns.
Additionally, tax relief, continued protection of our rights, water infrastructure and doing what
we can to protect and restore the Great Salt Lake and Utah Lake, attract and maintain more
medical and health professionals, continue eliminating unnecessary and burdensome
regulations on our people and businesses, ensure our children continue to receive the
education they need and deserve, and preparing our transportation infrastructure for a coming
tipping point of electric vehicles are all areas of concern and focus for the legislature.”
Maloy plans to continue his focus on these and other critical areas:
Utah State Infrastructure – Maloy regularly works on issues related to de-regulation,
transportation, water, and air quality.
Increase the number of Medical Professionals – Maloy is working on legislation that will
help keep more of Utah’s medical students here in Utah to fill the need of a low number
of medical professionals.
Education – Maloy supports eliminating federal influence in Utah education. He also
supports parental choice for children, the responsible use of technology, and effective
ways to help children learn.
Taxation – He regularly strives to find ways to decrease the tax burden for taxpayers
and supports better utilization of current revenue over new taxation.
Freedom and Rights – Maloy supports and protects the U.S. Constitution – especially
the First and Second Amendments.
Representative Maloy serves as chair of the House Government Operations Committee and
serves on the House Business and Labor Committee and the Infrastructure and General
Government Appropriations Committee. He also chairs the Regulatory Sandbox Advisory
Committee for the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity.
Maloy is founder and principal of Maloy PR, a successful public relations firm based in the heart
of Silicon Slopes of Lehi.
Maloy serves as House Representative for Utah House District 6. Due to recent redistricting,
House District 6 is now House District 52. He will serve as representative for District 6 until the
end of 2022. He is running for re-election for the new House District 52.
